Glen Clova is a wide U shaped valley, sculpted out during the Ice Age.
The hills at the foot of the Glen are quite low with shallow slopes. As you travel up the Glen, the scenery becomes more dramatic, the hills steepen and become more craggy and there are many Corries.
The River Clova winds its way down the Glen. In Glen Doll and the top of Glen Clova the river meanders across the valley floor, before straightening up at the foot of the Glen.
The river is prone to flooding in the winter. Rapid snow melt and/or heavy rain can cause much of the Glen to become submerged.
