The Airlie Game Farm provides shooting and gundog trials. There is stalking, and shooting available on the hills, and fishing available in the lochs and river. Cycling and hill walking are other popular pastimes, especially with the opening of the long distance Cateran Trail and on the old drove roads.

The Glenisla Highland Games is a popular annual event which takes place each August.  Full details of the event can be obtained from the Secretary of the Glenisla Highland and Friendly Society by visiting their own website.

Bird watching is available all over the area, with a RSPB Nature Reserve at Kinordy Loch. There is an Outdoor Activities Centre at Glenisla, providing pony trekking and canoeing. Golf is plentiful outwith the area, as are several historic homes and museums. Many holiday people enjoy basing themselves in Glenisla and exploring the craft workshops or further afield to the coast, through the hills and to surrounding towns and cities.
